Teacher home visits is the first parent – teacher conference done in the child’s comfort environment  of their home, which is when they first meet their teacher in a one on one setting.  Please sign up to your child’s teacher home visit conference held during August using the corresponding links below.   • 2023 Back to School Meet and Greet at Bethany Busy Bee 

Children get to meet their teacher, play with their classmates on the playground while parents mingle with other families. This provides more familiar faces for the first day.  Each class meets separately and plays on the playground, small groups of kids and families will be taken to the classroom for a tour, you may sign up for  volunteer opportunities, and ask any questions you may have.

Parents and students come at 8:45 am for Orientation, which begins at the sanctuary. The parents and student(s) will then be dismissed to meet at the child’s classroom where the teacher will conduct a classroom orientation. Parents will return to the sanctuary while the students stay in the classroom to have a snack and play on the playground for Toddlers, Mrs. Fallt, Mrs. McGowan and Mrs. Martin’s classes, and the Gym for Mrs. Hammer, Mrs. Mack and the Kindergarten classes. This provides a soft start, easing into the first day of school.

The Director will go over the school handbook in the sanctuary. Both returning parents and new parents are required to attend, as new state regulations will be covered along with new and updated policies and procedures. School Orientation ends around 10:45 am, parents or guardians will go and pick up their child(ren) from the classroom. This is not a full day or the first day of school.  A parent or guardian is required to attend the entire orientation.  Your key card for the school front entrance will be issued on this day in a packet along with a printed school calendar, class roster, and other information about upcoming school events.

The first day of school is from 8:45 am – 11:45 am: (and 8:45 am – 1:45 pm for MDO):

    • September 6th (Wednesday) – First Day of School for Kindergarten                                    
    • September 7th (Thursday) – First Day of School for classes that meet T&TH                            
    • September 8th (Friday) – First Day of School for classes that meet MWF & MDO/Friday only  
    • September 11th (Monday) – First Day of School for classes that meet MW          
  • September 11th (Monday) – Lunch Bunch begins from 11:45 – 1:45 pm. Lunch Bunch is an optional extended day available to children enrolled any day from Monday through Friday. Bring a lunch and the child stays until 1:45 P.M. The children eat lunch with the teacher and their friends. This time is an ideal opportunity for social conversation as well as learning to use good table manners. Art projects, science, cooking, or games are planned as well as time for free play. The cost of Lunch Bunch is $20.00 which can be paid on that day, or with your monthly tuition.  You pick up at 1:45 pm.   
  • September 13th – AWANA WELCOME 6PM                                                                                           
  • September 13 & 14 (Wednesday & Thursday) – Pizza with the Pastors 11:45 to 1 pm. 

Come meet Bethany Pastors and staff while you have some yummy pizza at 11:45 am in the foyer.

  • September 18th – Monday Special Event included with Lunch Bunch : The Gingerbread Man Activity presented by The Children’s Museum at 12-12:45p  and at 1-1:45p.  If you do not have your child(ren) signed up for Lunch Bunch on this day, as a One Time Free Trial you may stay for the first session at 12-12:45p only.  The parent/guardian will need to stay along with their child(ren) supervising them throughout this activity.
  • September 18th & 19th – Fire Safety Talk with the Fire Department at 10:00 am. The fire department comes into Bethany Busy Bee to talk about fire safety such as “crawl low and go!” and fire drills. This is a great way to introduce fire drills and the importance to practice fire drills at least once a month.

We will also be collecting a meal for the First Responders as part of our community service opportunity.  The meal will be issued to them at their visit to Busy Bee on Monday, September 18th & Tuesday, September 19th. Please RSVP to bring in a dish:  Firefighter’s Meal    We would like to extend a great big thanks to the Reger and Chew families for donating subway meals from their Subway store, located by Arapahoe and Holly, for the firefighters on both Monday and Tuesday.  What a great gift!  (For those who have sign up to bring an item, we could still use them for our Lunch and Learn if you still would like to donate the items. Please drop the items at the kitchen anytime by the 20th.)

  • September 20th – Women’s Fellowship “The Gathering” Kick Off! 9:30-11:30 am  on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday mornings September 2022 through May 2023 
  • September 20th – Lunch & Learn “Family Routines & Structure” with James Nee from 12:00 to 1:30 pm. Please join us and RSVP by Monday, September 18th. Let us know under comments the names and ages of the children that will be staying for Lunch Bunch or in childcare.   • September 25th – Monday Special Event during Lunch Bunch : Kidokinetics, providing a comprehensive sports and fitness experience that is both engaging and fun, helping children stay physically and socially active, relieve stress and build confidence.
  • September 25th thru 29th – Business Table Fair! Bethany Busy Bee families get to display their business information this week. It is free and we provide the tables.  Please RSVP to reserve a table with this link:  Business Table Fair

  • September 29th – Time to Celebrate! Marlene Fallt will mark her 40th year at Busy Bee and we will acknowledge Bethany Busy Bee’s 41 years  of service to our community! Tickets are $50 per person, $15 per child, and $400 to sponsor a table of 8.  Dress is semi formal and seating is limited.
